Sheffield Wednesday fans to don fancy dress for last away game
Sheffield Wednesday Football Club has launched an online poll to decide which fancy dress theme to adopt for their last away game of the season.
Dressing up for the last away game of each season is a tradition among Wednesday fans. Last year, they adopted an "orange theme" for the final away game in Leicester. This year's last match will be played against Bristol City this weekend, and the online poll to choose the theme will close at 4pm on Wednesday April 22.
Sheffield Wednesday FC chairman Lee Strafford said: "Our fans always make an effort for the last away game and we always see some brilliant ideas. Last year, the fans went for the orange theme and, I'm sure those who travelled to Leicester will agree, it looked brilliant.
"We've looked on the online forums and spoken to a few fans and then put the main ideas into a poll. I can't wait to see what the theme is and what the fans come up with this year."
The main options for this year's fancy dress at the Bristol City away game are: childrens tv characters, superheroes, Hollywood icon costumes or 'Honolulu Wednesday' (fancy dress with an hawiian theme).
In previous years, Honolulu themes have gone down well with Wednesday supporters. However, the results of this year's poll won't be revealed until it closes tomorrow afternoon.
The club is trying to get as many people to vote online as possible, and have even posted an update on the poll on their Twitter site which can be viewed at twitter.com/swfc.
